Daniel Adu-Adjei inspires Rijeka win at Hajduk

English-Ghanaian forward Daniel Adu-Adjei delivered an outstanding performance as HNK Rijeka defeated Hajduk Split 3-0 in the Croatian HNL.

Rijeka made a fast start and took the lead in the 35th minute. Adu-Adjei created the opening for Tiago Dantas, who finished confidently to put the hosts ahead.

The forward continued to trouble Hajduk’s defence and played another decisive role just before half-time. In the third minute of stoppage time, Adu-Adjei set up Samuele Vignato, whose goal doubled Rijeka’s advantage before the break.

Adu-Adjei then completed his own contribution in the 57th minute, scoring Rijeka’s third goal and putting the result beyond doubt. His display combined intelligent movement, creativity and clinical finishing, making him one of the standout players on the pitch.

The 3-0 victory gave Rijeka an impressive result against one of the league’s leading sides and strengthened their confidence after a positive home performance. Hajduk were unable to find a response as Rijeka controlled the match through the closing stages.

Adu-Adjei has now played seven league matches this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists. Rijeka will return to HNL action against Slaven on October 10, with the forward expected to remain central to their attacking plans.
