Hamburger SV are on the verge of signing Kofi Amoako after the 21-year-old midfielder completed his medical in Hamburg on Thursday morning.
The transfer from Dynamo Dresden is expected to cost just under â¬2 million, and the final paperwork is set to be signed on Friday.
Amoako, who is an Germany U20 international, is due to put pen to paper on a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2030. The move marks an important step in his career, giving him a chance to prove himself at a bigger stage after his spell in the 2. Bundesliga.
The midfielder’s journey has been shaped by steady development from a young age. He began his structured youth training at TSV Fortuna Sachsenross around 2015, before moving on to a permanent switch from VfL Wolfsburg to SG Dynamo Dresden on 26 June 2025 for a reported â¬300,000. That deal came after a loan spell at VfL Osnabrück, which helped prepare him for senior football.
HSV now appear ready to reward that progress with a long-term commitment as they add more depth and energy to their midfield.
