Medeama SC attacker Abdul Salam remains confident in the team’s chances of winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title, despite their defeat to Berekum Chelsea.
The forward was in action for the Yellow and Mauves on Wednesday when the team suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Blues in their Week 30 fixture of the season.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Abdul Salam expressed his disappointment with the result but stressed that the team did everything possible to fight for a win.
“We did our best but the Golden City Park is a tough venue,” the forward said.
Looking ahead to the next match against Basake Holy Stars, Abdul Salam expressed optimism in the team’s chances of winning, adding that the Tarkwa-based outfit remains poised to claim the league title at the end of the season.
“We are still confident we can win the league. We will go back after this defeat and work harder to ensure we win the next game to get back on track. Our mentality is to always win and so that’s exactly how we will approach the match,” the striker said.
The upcoming Week 32 fixture between Medeama SC and Holy Stars is scheduled for Sunday, May 10.
