The Chairman of Sekondi Eleven Wise FC, Dr. Spio Garbrah, has decided to relinquish his role at the club, bringing an end to his three-year spell.
As part of the transition process, Spio Garbrah, an astute Ghanaian businessman, is stepping down ahead of time to pave the way for the commencement of the legal transfer of ownership of the club.
Eleven Wise currently sit in 10th position on the Division One League table in Zone 2, accumulating 17 points after 15 matches in the campaign.
And according to Spio Garbrah, the club hopes to maintain their status in the Division One ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, as the transition process is set to begin.
“As you recall, my 3-year tenure as legal trustee/owner and head of the management team of our great club - Sekondi XI Wise FC is scheduled to end in May 2026, in less than four months”
“In light of the continuing complex challenges facing the club and its precarious position on the league table, requiring very focused on-the-ground attention, and even more significant financial infusions. I will step down as Chairman ahead of the end of my tenure and commence the process of legal transfer of ownership/trusteeship of the club to the person/persons approved by Nana”
“Sadly, my professional work has me far away in Asia for most of 2026, and the board of our investment company, having already cumulatively invested over 1 million GHS since the takeover in May 2023 - without any profit - is increasingly stretched”
“We hope that by beginning the transition process now, rather than in May at the Season's mid-point, Nana, the CEO, our local MPs, senior stakeholders and Supporters will be able to freely choose and re-organise the management of the Club to ensure Division 1 is maintained into 2026/2027”
