Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, despite a notable lack of goals from his recognised strikers in recent weeks.
His stance follows a pivotal 1-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak, a win that extended their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League.
The match's decisive moment came not from a forward, but from midfielder Salim Adams, who scored against his former club to secure all three points. This pattern has become a theme for the league leaders.
When questioned about his strikers' goal drought in a post-match interview, Tanko offered a relaxed and team-orientated perspective. "No. I think we are a team. If the defenders score the goals for us to get what we want, our midfielders... they will have a chance. If they make use of it, definitely they will score more goals," he stated.
The victory was crucial in the title race, solidifying Medeama's position at the summit with 34 points, two clear of second-placed Bibiani Gold Stars. The team's ability to grind out results, with contributions from all areas of the pitch, appears to be their current winning formula.
Medeama will look to continue this effective, if unconventional, approach when they face Young Apostles in their next fixture on Sunday, January 11.
