Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has expressed optimism about Angola’s title chances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Despite having Angolan root, the enterprising midfielder opted to represent France at the international level and has since made 28 appearances for the Les Blues, scoring two goals in the process.
Camavinga, who closely monitored the previous Africa Cup of Nations tournament, held in Ivory Coast insists Angola has a genuine chance to win the title in Morocco.
“I’m supporting Angola at the Africa Cup of Nation. I followed the last Africa Cup of Nations, and we played well. I think this year we have a chance,” he said.
Camavinga was born in the town of Miconje in the Cabinda province on the west coast of Angola. However, just a year later he moved to France with his family.
Angola have already begun their campaign with a match against South Africa, which ended in a narrow 2â1 victory for Bafana Bafana.
The Palancas Negras will take on Zimbabwe in their second group game on Friday, December 26, 2025.
