Manchester City are reportedly poised to activate the release clause of Ghana international Antoine Semenyo ahead of the winter transfer window.
Semenyo was as a top transfer target for several clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, but he opted to sign a new deal with the Cherries.
Bournemouth is bracing themselves for a fresh wave of bids for the Ghana international as the winter window approaches, having rebuffed summer offers.
Semenyo is expected to be at the centre of a transfer bidding war, with a £65 million release clause in his contract at Bournemouth set to be active in January.
With several clubs aware of the situation, it is understood clubs are circling to bid for the Black Stars forward.
However, Manchester City, whose immediate priority is to strengthen their wings in January are reportedly ready to activate Semenyo’s clause this winter.
Semenyo started the Premier League season on fire before his momentum slowed slightly, but the Ghana international still boasts an impressive record for Bournemouth this season.
He has featured in thirteen matches across all competitions for the English club, scoring six goals and providing three assists, helping Bournemouth stay close to the top half of the table.
