Black Queens coach Kim Lars Björkegren says he expects a tough game against the Lionesses of England on Tuesday.
Ghana will be hosted by the European champions at St. Mary's with kick-off scheduled at 19:00 GMT.
Speaking to the Ghana FA website ahead of the game, Björkegren admitted that he expects a difficult game against the home side but also stressed his side has the qualities to face the Lionesses.
"We’re jumping into deep water to see if we can swim against the best team in the world. It’s going to be really tough, and we need to understand that. But we also know we have some qualities," he said.
"We may not be top five in the world yet, but we need to challenge ourselves. He described the match as a vital measurement of the team’s progress.
"Games like this are potentially the most difficult in the world right now. Away against England, they will challenge us for sure.
"We’re going to see how good we are, but also what we need to do better to climb the FIFA rankings and remain one of the top teams in Africa," he added.
As part of their preparations ahead of the game, the Black Queens defeated Aston Villa's Women's team.
The upcoming friendly game form part of the Queens' preparation ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
