The Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has charged the team to improve their performance, arguing that they are currently not doing enough to win the Ghana Premier League title.
The Porcupine Warriors missed out on the league title last season but managed to secure the MTN FA Cup title.
Since the start of the 2025/26 league campaign, Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has constantly stressed that his team’s ambition is to reclaim the league title at the end of the season.
For this ambition to become a reality, Sarfo Duku believes the Reds must improve their game.
“I think the team must improve their game. If we want to win the league, what we’re showing now simply won’t be enough.
“The entire squad needs to raise their level. One positive is that we are creating decent chances, but converting them has been a challenge, and that’s something we must fix. Improving our scoring ability is crucial,” the Communications Director told Akoma FM in an interview.
Sarfo Duku added, “All departments of the team must step up, but scoring goals has to be a priority. Once we start converting chances, it shows that things are working well, and I firmly believe that winning the league is still within our reach. We can still do it.
Asante Kotoko face a daunting task this weekend when they host Medeama SC in a Week 12 fixture in the Ghana Premier League.
The Reds head into the match with just a single win from their last five games. To keep their title hopes alive, the team must step up to beat Medeama SC this weekend.
That fixture is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, November 30.
