Coach Ibrahim Tanko has urged Medeama’s forwards to show greater precision as his side prepares for Sunday’s Ghana Premier League clash with Asante Kotoko.
Tanko believes improved finishing will be crucial in a contest that could alter the standings near the top of the table.
Medeama enter the fixture two points ahead of Kotoko, sitting third with 22 points, while the Porcupine Warriors hold fourth place.
Medeama have not lost a league match since their 1-0 setback to Karela United on September 28.
The Mauve and Yellows have recorded four wins and four draws during that period, maintaining pressure on the leading pack in the title race.
Tanko expects opportunities to arise at the Baba Yara Stadium and challenged his attackers to convert when it matters most.
“Definitely, we will get our chances and I hope that the strikers will be more clinical this time and score the goals,” he said.
Kotoko’s build-up has been less encouraging following a 2-1 defeat to Holy Stars, their first league loss of the campaign.
Even so, Kotoko will draw belief from their recent home record against Medeama, having won two of their last meetings in Kumasi.
