Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has urged the newly inaugurated World Cup Planning Committee to operate with accountability and a strong sense of national duty as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking at the launch of the Committee, which had Sports Minister Kofi Adams and Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku in attendance, Mr Debrah commended the inclusion of Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele, describing it as a boost to the group’s credibility and expertise.
"This oversight committee must lead with accountability, speed and national consciousness. The time for scattered effort is over," he said.
Mr Debrah added that Ghana must approach the 2026 tournament with renewed focus. “We cannot afford to enter 2026 with the mindset of 2014 and 2010. Let us correct what must be corrected and amplify what must be built. Let us lead with clarity, act with urgency and project Ghana with discipline and pride.”
Ghana will be making its fifth appearance at the World Cup next year.
