Black Stars coach Otto Addo described Tuesday’s loss to South Korea as an “even” contest, insisting the match offered encouraging signs despite Ghana’s 1-0 defeat.
The team produced a more structured display than in last week’s reverse to Japan, showing improved movement and confidence on the ball throughout the friendly in Seoul.
Addo noted that Ghana maintained good possession at key stages, yet South Korea proved more decisive in the final third.
“I think we had good ball possession but also a lot of chances we created which we couldn't use. I think the game was kind of even. It was good to watch,” he said.
South Korea tightened their grip after the interval and eventually found the breakthrough.
Lee Tae-Seok headed past Asare in the 63rd minute, finishing a precise delivery from Lee Kang-In as Ghana’s defence struggled to track the run.
Ghana faced a deeper test when the hosts won a penalty, but Benjamin Asare kept Hwang Hee-Chan’s attempt out to keep the contest alive.
The Black Stars later celebrated two goals from Kwabena Adu and Jonas Adjei Adjetey, only for both efforts to be ruled offside.
Addo’s team pushed forward late on but could not find an equaliser. The defeat follows Friday’s 2-0 loss to Japan, leaving Ghana with consecutive setbacks on their Asian tour.
