Derrick Kohn and Joseph Anang handed debuts as Antoine Semenyo captains Ghana against Japan

Derrick Kohn and Joseph Anang will make their debuts for Ghana on Friday as Antoine Semenyo captains the Black Stars in an international friendly against Japan.

St Patrick’s Athletic goalkeeper Anang finally earns his first appearance after months in the squad without a cap, while Kohn starts at left-back following the completion of his switch from Germany.

Their inclusion underscores Ghana’s renewed emphasis on integrating emerging talent ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Semenyo takes the armband in the absence of senior players including Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey.
