Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo believes the Black Stars are in great shape to face Asian heavyweights Japan.
The Black Stars will engage the Samurai Blues in their first game since qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Kirin Cup tournament is expected to test the West Africans readiness ahead of the competition to be held in North America next year.
While the Black Stars are missing several key players, Semenyo - one of the best players in the Premier League this season - is expected to lead Otto Addo's men against Japan.
"As players, we love taking on these challenges. The team's confidence is high after qualifying for the World Cup and the players are in good form at club level, so I think now is the right time to show the world what we're made of," he said in a pre-match interview.
"We know it's always a tough test going all the way to Japan and playing against them in front of their home crowd, but the players are ready. We have some new faces who are trying to find their place and impress the manager, so it's a good opportunity for us to take on the challenge again. It's time to get on the pitch and make Ghana proud. We can't wait to get started again."
Semenyo played a key role as the Black Stars secured a place at the World Cup.
Ghana will know their opponent for the group stage during the draw to be held in the United States on December 5.
