Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has disclosed that the Black Stars will not receive any financial bonuses for their upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
The team is currently in Asia as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with matches scheduled against Japan on Friday, November 14, and South Korea on November 18.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Asante Twum clarified that the players will only receive daily allowances during the tour.
"No winning bonuses for Black Stars players for the Japan and South Korea friendly games; only per diems," he said.
He added that both host nations are covering the full cost of the Black Stars’ participation.
"These games for the Black Stars are funded by the host countries, i.e, Japan and South Korea," he added.
Head coach Otto Addo has named a 22-man squad for the trip, with 18 players already in camp in Nagoya, with the rest of the invited players expected to arrive in camp today.
Meanwhile, the team is expected to hold its first training session today, November 12, ahead of the Kirin Cup encounter with Japan.
