Black Princesses went down 3-0 to Nigeria’s Falconets in their final group match of the WAFU B U20 Girls Cup, finishing second in the tournament.
Ghana had also lost their opening game 3-1 and, despite creating early chances against Nigeria, were unable to convert.
The Falconets controlled the match, with Janet Akeremkowei opening the scoring from a free kick in the 15th minute. Alaba Olabiyi added a second in the 23rd minute, before a third goal later in the game sealed Nigeria’s victory.
Back Princesses' involvement in the competition saw them win two games, both against Benin, while losing their two games against Nigeria.
Ghana head coach Charles Sampson believes the outing was a valuable learning experience, noting it will help him refine the team ahead of future assignments.
