Head coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses, Charles Sampson, is upbeat ahead of his team’s clash against Nigeria’s Falconets in the final of the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup.
Speaking ahead of the match on Tuesday, November 11, the coach indicated that his side will be looking for a win against the opponent.
“Nigeria has a bit of an edge over us because they've had a rest in between, but we face them again in the same manner, having played Benin before meeting them.
''That gives them a bit of an advantage, but we're also out to win against them today, so our match preparation is going all out, and we're looking forward to it as a good test for us,” Charles Sampson said as quoted on ghanafa.org.
The Black Princesses' coach further revealed that his team has studied the Nigerians' play and will come up with a plan to neutralise their strengths.
''We have also identified some strengths of Nigeria, and of course, we'll try to work out how we can capitalize on them because this is how football is, and then see how mature our players are to be able to take those instructions to come out better than them today, so we're looking forward to it,” the Ghana coach added.
The Black Princesses, having lost 3-1 to the Falconets in their first meeting at the tournament, will need something special to secure victory.
The WAFU B U20 Girls Cup final is scheduled to kick off at 09:00GMT.
