The National U-15 Boys’ team will assemble in Hohoe on Monday, November 10, to begin preparations for the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship WAFU-B Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
A 40-player provisional squad has been invited to camp as part of Ghana’s build-up to the sub-regional tournament. The team will undergo intensive training and assessment sessions under the supervision of the technical staff, with the squad expected to be pruned down before departure for the competition.
Ghana will participate in both the boys’ and girls’ categories of the WAFU-B qualifiers, which run from November 29 to December 4, 2025.
Organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the African Schools Football Championship is a flagship youth competition aimed at promoting grassroots football development and nurturing emerging talents across the continent. The WAFU-B Zone remains one of the most competitive in Africa, featuring football powerhouses such as Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Niger, and hosts Burkina Faso.
Ghana enters this year’s qualifiers with renewed confidence following an outstanding showing in the previous edition. The Ghanaian teams excelled at both the zonal and continental levels â the girls’ team were crowned champions at the main tournament hosted at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, while the boys’ team secured a third-place finish.
The upcoming qualifiers in Ouagadougou present another major opportunity for Ghana’s next generation of footballers to showcase their abilities, uphold the country’s proud footballing tradition, and secure qualification for the CAF African Schools Football Championship continental finals.
