Asante Kotoko captain Samba O’Neil says his outfit were more determined to secure victory over Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors continued their dominance over the Phobians in the Ghanaian top-flight on Sunday, inflicting a 1-0 win to secure maximum points in matchday 9 of the Ghana Premier League clash, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Morifing Donzo’s strike from the spot was enough for the Porcupine Warriors to snatch victory over their sworn-rivals.
However, Samba O’Neil, who emerged as the Man-of-the-Match in the crucial match insists his outfit were determined to beat their rivals.
“Hearts of Oak is a very strong side. The game was not easy but we were determined to win” he said after the match.
The two-time Champions League holders has now extended their unbeaten Ghana Premier League run against Hearts of Oak to five games.
Meanwhile, Kotoko are unbeaten in their first six matches in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
With three outstanding matches, the Reds are well on course as far as challenging for the league title is concerned.
