Medeama SC’s dynamic midfielder Prince Owusu has been named in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 20-year-old has been rewarded with another national team call-up following his impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League.
Owusu, who made his senior debut against the Central African Republic during the penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, has continued to impress with his consistency and maturity in the heart of Medeama’s midfield.
A technically gifted left-footer, Owusu has evolved into one of the most reliable midfielders in the domestic league. His tireless work rate, ball-winning ability, and tactical intelligence have been central to Medeama’s strong start to the 2025/26 season, with the Mauve and Yellow currently sitting second on the league table, just one point behind leaders Aduana FC.
Last season, the talented midfielder featured in 22 league matches, contributing a goal and two assists while anchoring the team’s midfield with poise and precision. His continued growth and influence at club level have made him a standout among home-based players.
Owusu joins a competitive Ghana midfield unit led by Thomas Partey and Kwesi Sibo for the Asian tour, which will see the Black Stars face Japan on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Toyota Stadium in Aichi, before locking horns with South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The upcoming friendlies will provide Owusu with another valuable opportunity to showcase his quality on the international stage and strengthen his case for inclusion in Otto Addo’s plans ahead of Ghana’s fifth FIFA World Cup appearance in Canada, Mexico, and the United States in 2026.
