Ernest Poku scored a fine goal to help Bayer Leverkusen crush FC Heidenheim 6-0 in a commanding Bundesliga display at the BayArena on Saturday.
The Dutch-Ghanaian winger, starting on the left flank, found the net in the 27th minute, slotting home a precise cross from Arthur to make it 4-0 before halftime.
Leverkusen’s response after last week’s setback against Bayern Munich was emphatic. Patrik Schick set the tone early, scoring twice inside the opening 22 minutes, while Jonas Hofmann added a header to stretch the lead. Poku’s strike delighted home fans, showcasing his pace and composure in front of goal.
Before the break, Ibrahim Maza added a fifth with a clever finish and completed his brace shortly after the restart, sealing the team’s biggest win of the season.
Poku, who lasted 46 minutes, left the pitch to warm applause for his lively contribution. Leverkusen dominated every statistic, enjoying 74 percent possession and allowing just one shot on target from Heidenheim. Xabi Alonso’s men next face Wolfsburg on November 22.
