Ransford Yeboah-Königsdorffer scored a dramatic late equaliser to rescue a point for Hamburger SV in their 1â1 draw with Borussia Dortmund at the Volksparkstadion.
The Ghanaian forward started on the bench but came on in the 62nd minute to replace Yussuf Poulsen, instantly lifting the home crowd with his energy and sharp movement. His persistence paid off deep into stoppage time when Miro Muheim sent in a perfect cross that Yeboah-Konigsdorffer met with a precise header into the bottom right corner in the 90+7th minute.
Earlier, Borussia Dortmund had taken the lead through Carney Chukwuemeka in the 64th minute after a well-worked move from a corner. The visitors dominated possession and created more chances, but their failure to take control of the game cost them late on.
Hamburg’s fighting spirit, crowned by Yeboah-Konigsdorffer’s goal, earned them a valuable point in front of their home fans. The draw leaves them encouraged heading into their next Bundesliga fixture against Augsburg on November 22nd.
