Mohammed Kudus is expected to miss the Kirin Cup tournament this month after suffering a knock during last week's Premier League match against Chelsea.
The Ghana international missed the UEFA Champions League triumph over Copenhagen and failed a late fitness test for Spurs encounter with Manchester United.
Although it was reported to be a minor knock, Kudus will be left out of coach Otto Addo's squad for the games against Japan and South Korea to allow him to fully recover.
"Mo (Kudus) got the knock, just couldn't make it for this. I really expected it to be a short one. It was just too short a turnaround from the Chelsea game which was just a week ago so I am quite confident he will be ready for the next game," said Spurs manager Thomas Frank before the match against United.
Kudus, who scored a brace against South Korea at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, has had an electrifying start to life in North London, scoring a goal and delivering four assists in the Premier League.
His absence for the international break means Otto Addo will have the options of assessing other alternatives.
