Top-of-the-table FC AshantiGold '04 maintained their dominant form with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Police Nationals at the Tuba AstroTurf on Saturday, extending their unbeaten start to five consecutive matches without conceding a goal.
Gideon Eshun gave the Miners an early lead just three minutes into the game, before Raphael Ankamah made it 2-0 with a superb header in the 72nd minute.
Substitute Shadrack Kofi completed the scoring deep into stoppage time to seal another convincing win. AshantiGold '04 have now collected 13 points, scoring eight goals and keeping a perfect defensive record.
New Edubiase United suffered a setback at the Len Clay Stadium, falling 2-1 at home to newly promoted Nsuopun Fidelity. After a goalless first half, Emmanuel Mensah put the visitors ahead in the 64th minute. Michael Yeboah equalised for Edubiase in the 78th minute, but Samuel Osei Kofi struck late in stoppage time to hand Fidelity all three points.
In Cape Coast, Ebusua Dwarfs snapped their four-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over PAC Academy at the Robert Mensah Stadium. Seidu Tijani opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, before Raphael Gyan secured the result with a 94th-minute effort.
