Ghanaian forward Edmund Baidoo continued his fine goalscoring form for Red Bull Salzburg, coming off the bench to score in their commanding 4-1 victory over SV Ried in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday.
The 19-year-old attacker, who has been in impressive form this season, once again made a strong impact after being introduced in the second half at the Red Bull Arena.
Salzburg made an explosive start, taking the lead just a minute into the game through Danish midfielder Clement Bischoff.
However, the visitors hit back in the 34th minute when Zambia international Kingstone Mutandwa levelled the score.
Japanese youngster Sota Kitano restored Salzburg’s advantage right before half-time to send the hosts into the break 2-1 ahead.
Baidoo, brought on in the 68th minute, needed only four minutes to make his presence felt.
The Ghanaian latched onto a clever pass from Maurits Kjaergaard before calmly slotting home to extend the lead to 3-1.
Serbian forward Petar Ratkov added a fourth in the 81st minute to round off a convincing display from the defending champions.
Baidoo’s goal takes his tally to three in the ongoing Austrian top-flight campaign, further cementing his place as one of Red Bull Salzburg’s most exciting young prospects.
His consistent performances continue to draw attention as he pushes for a regular starting role under coach Thomas Letsch.
