Benjamin Tetteh continued his superb scoring form with a first-half brace as NK Maribor defeated NK Bravo 3-2 in an entertaining Slovenian Prva Liga encounter at the Stozice Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Ghanaian forward was once again the difference-maker for the Violets, inspiring Feda Dudic’s side to a comeback victory after they fell behind early in Ljubljana.
Bravo made a dream start, taking the lead in the 5th minute when Stankovic’s shot took a wicked deflection off Rekik and wrong-footed goalkeeper Jug.
But Maribor, showing character and purpose, turned the game on its head through their in-form striker.
Tetteh first restored parity in the 18th minute, smashing home after Reghba and Sirvys combined brilliantly down the right flank.
Just three minutes later, he completed the turnaround - pouncing on a defensive error to race clear and slot past Likar for his second of the afternoon and his tenth goal of the season.
Maribor extended their advantage eight minutes after the break when Tshipamba’s cross found Pejicic, who followed up his own rebound to make it 3-1.
The home side pulled one back in the 77th minute through Ivansek, but Maribor held firm to claim all three points despite late pressure.
Tetteh’s double takes his tally to 10 goals and 3 assists in 14 league appearances this season, underlining his status as one of the most prolific forwards in the Slovenian top flight.
