Ghanaian defender Hafiz Gariba is quickly earning attention at FC Barcelona, with club insiders tipping the 18-year-old for a potential future in the first team.
Gariba has been outstanding for Barça’s Juvenil A side this season, displaying maturity, composure, and strong ball-playing ability that align perfectly with the club’s style.
The talented centre-back joined the Catalan club in February 2025, signing a three-year deal with the Juvenil B team after impressing scouts during trials in Spain. His steady rise has since seen him feature prominently in the UEFA Youth League, where he has been one of the team’s most consistent performers.
Gariba began his football journey with Zinaps FC in Ghana before developing further at Villarreal CF Africa and the Marcet Soccer Academy in Spain. It was during his time at Marcet that Barcelona scouts identified his potential.
Coaches at La Masia believe Gariba’s blend of intelligence, calmness, and technical skill could see him follow the path of several academy graduates who progressed to Barcelona’s senior side.
