Bayer Leverkusen coach Kasper Hjulmand has confirmed his earlier optimistic assessment about Jarell Quansah's imminent return.
The defender is set to make his comeback in Bayer Leverkusen's home match against SC Freiburg on Sunday at 3:30 PM, following his recent injury absence.
A patellar tendon issue at the knee sidelined Leverkusen's starter for the past two weeks. He missed the matches against Mainz (4-3) and Champions League opponent PSG (2-7).
This weekend, the Werkself expects to welcome back both Quansah and Patrik Schick, who dealt with a thigh injury. "We're counting on Jarell and Patrik," Hjulmand stated briefly on Friday.
Jarell Quansah's situation looks more promising. His return to the lineup would provide a significant boost to Leverkusen's defense just as they prepare for their challenging Sunday fixture.
Jarell Quansah has made six appearances in the Bundesliga during the 2025/26 season.
