Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo says Ghana’s growing sense of unity makes the team âreally hard to beat’ ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Real Oviedo player believes the togetherness within the squad has created a strong bond on and off the pitch, giving them an edge over opponents.
Ghana sealed qualification for the global tournament for the fifth time after finishing top of Group I with 25 points.
Their most memorable World Cup campaign came in 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals before bowing out to Uruguay on penalties.
However, the team has failed to progress beyond the group stages in its last two appearances, something Sibo is confident can change.
“This team can really achieve big in the World Cup,” Sibo told JoySports.
“The [players] I’ve trained with are doing well at their various clubs in Europe. This team is more united and when a team is united, it’s really hard to beat. We’re all together, making jokes, and that makes a team really strong.”
The 27-year-old, who partnered Thomas Partey in midfield during Ghana’s last two qualifiers, hopes to feature in next month’s Asian tour against Japan and South Korea.
