Atalanta's Goal of the Month winner, Kamaldeen Sulemana, has disclosed that he did not expect a rapid start to life in Bergamo.
The Black Stars forward joined Atalanta in the summer transfer window from relegated Premier League side Southampton and has instantly become a hit in Italy.
In seven Serie A matches, Sulemana has bagged two goals and also registered his first senior goal for Ghana during October's international break.
Despite arriving with enormous talent, Sulemana struggled during his days in England and expected a slow start in Italy.
"I didn't think I'd start so well. I wanted to show everyone my worth, especially Atalanta. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to play for this fantastic club. I really like the city of Bergamo. I like the team, I breathe positivity every day. But now I'm no longer a surprise for my opponents, so I'll have to study new surprises!" he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 23-year-old has been one of Ivan Juric's key players in the ongoing campaign.
The former Stade Rennais attacker started for Atalanta following his return from international duty as the 2023 Europa League winners were held to a goalless stalemate by Lazio on Sunday, October 19.
