Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has been named NASCO Coach of the Month for September, in recognition of his tactical mastery and leadership that guided the Kpando-based side to an unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League.
The veteran trainer, one of Ghana’s most experienced coaches, led his team through a perfect month in which they secured three consecutive victories.
Under his direction, the Lions combined attacking flair with defensive solidity, scoring six goals and conceding only one â a record that reflected their growing balance and discipline on both ends of the pitch.
Hayford’s strategic influence was evident in his team’s commanding performances, which earned him the accolade ahead of two seasoned rivals â Mas-Ud Didi Dramani of Hearts of Oak and 2023/24 league-winning coach Nurudeen Amadu of Karela United.
Heart of Lions opened the campaign with a narrow but significant 1â0 home win over Dreams FC, before travelling to dispatch Eleven Wonders 4â1 in a commanding away display.
They completed their flawless month with another tight 1â0 victory against Bechem United, maintaining their unbeaten start and asserting themselves as early contenders.
For his remarkable work throughout September, Coach Hayford will receive a 43-inch NASCO digital satellite television and a NASCO double-door refrigerator as part of his award package.
