
Head coach of the women's national team, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has been nominated for the women's Coach of the Year award ahead of the 2025 CAF Awards.
The Swedish tactician led the Black Stars to bronze medal at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, earning him nomination for the top award.
Although Bjorkegren took over as coach early this year, he quickly transformed the team into top contenders on the continent and were only denied a place at the final of AFCON through penalties.
He will face competition from Nigerian duo Justine Madugu (WAFCON winner0 and Bankole Olowookore, Morocco's Jorge Vilda and Desiree Ellis of South Africa.
Also competing for the award are Ivory Coast's Adelaide Koudougnon, Karol Kayemba of Zambia, ASEC Mimosa's Siaka Traore, Lamia Boumehdi of TP Mazembe and 15 de Agosto's Genoveva Anonma.
The date and final shortlist for the award will be announced by the Confederation of African Football.
Meanwhile, the Black Queens coach has released his squad for Ghana's upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt next week.
