Medeama midfielder Prince Owusu insists he will not be carried away after making his first appearance for the Black Stars.
The former Koforidua Suhyen Sporting Club marksman earned a dream call up into the Black Stars for the final round of the 2026 World Cup qualification.
In the penultimate clash against Central African Republic, the fast-rising midfielder was handed some minutes as the Black Stars thumped their opponent to secure maximum points.
However, the midfielder has affirmed he will not be carried away after breaking into the Black Stars latest squad, while promising to do more to attract coach Otto Addo’s attention.
“There was no pressure on me because I had received pieces of advice and as a player, there is no senior player but off the field, you accord people the needed respect [So my call up] did not bring me any pressure,” Prince Owusu told MEDi TV.
“I will not get carried away by the first invitation but I will rather work hard just as I worked hard to attract the attention of the coach [Otto Addo]. I will work extra hard.”
The four time African champions topped Group I with an impressive 25 points’ haul after ten qualifying matches. The qualification was Ghana fifth after appearance at the 2006, 2010, 2014 and the 2022 editions.
