The Mansour Group, owners of the global Right to Dream (RTD) football and education network, has announced plans to construct a new state-of-the-art academy near Accra.
The multi-million-dollar facility will enhance educational and athletic opportunities for nearly 100 student-athletes drawn from Ghana and across West Africa. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with the new academy scheduled to open by 2027.
During the construction period, RTD will retain all 127 employees and maintain existing scholarships, operating temporarily from another site near Accra.
This marks a significant expansion of RTD’s presence in Ghana, where the academy was first founded in 1999. The new facility will join the global RTD network of academies and professional clubs across three continents, backed by the Mansour Group’s investment arm, Man Capital LLP.
Since acquiring Right to Dream in 2021, the Mansour Group has invested over US$180 million globally, including €15 million in Ghana, to advance youth development through football and education.
The Ghanaian government has welcomed the move, describing it as a vote of confidence in Ghana’s future and a major boost for grassroots football and national development.
