Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori says his immediate focus is on performing well for his club, AmaZulu FC, as he works toward a potential return to the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ofori, who has not featured for Ghana since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, has been working to rediscover his best form after joining the South African side in September 2024 as a free agent.
Speaking to iDiski Times, the 31-year-old said he is determined to let his performances at club level speak for him.
“I’m working hard in my team to help my team in the league, and then the rest will take over,” Ofori said. “Recently, no, I haven’t spoken to coach Otto Addo, but before, he used to call me. He’s a good man who checks up on his players.”
He added, “I’m focused on my club right now. That’s what you need to do if you want to be there [at the World Cup].”
Ofori has made 33 appearances for Ghana since his debut in 2015.
