Former Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston has begun work as the coach of Uganda's youth teams.
The ex-Black Starlets coach was appointed coach of the young Cranes on a two-year deal last week.
Kingston flew to Kampala this week to start work, leading the U17 team to a 2-0 friendly win over KAFA Foundation Academy.
The 44-year-old has pledged to give his all in ensuring Uganda becomes competitive at youth levels.
“When you’re doing something, don’t give 100% effort only when people are watching. Sometimes you think no one is paying attention, but trust me, many eyes are on you,” Laryea told JoySports.
“I believe this opportunity to coach the youth in Uganda came because of the work I’ve put in over the years. They’ve seen how I handle the boys and believe I have what it takes to help their football grow.
“It’s a great opportunity, and I’m truly grateful for it. I’m going to give 110% to the job. Whatever I signed for, I’m going to give my all, and I can’t wait.”
