The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has explained the reason behind the hike in ticket prices for Ghana’s final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros.
The Black Stars, after thumping the Central African Republic in Morocco on Wednesday, will now take on Comoros in Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium to conclude their qualification for next year’s World Cup.
Ahead of the highly anticipated contest, the NSA has announced that tickets for the VVIP section at the Accra Sports Stadium will be sold for GHS1,000.
Tickets for the Upper VIP and Lower VIP will be sold for GHS500 and GHS250, respectively.
Tickets for the Centre Line are selling for GHS100, while the tickets for the Popular Stand are selling for GHS100.
Amid complaints about the high cost of the tickets, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has explained that the hike in prices is to ensure fans are given a good experience whenever they visit the Stadium.
“Hike in prices is one of the modalities deployed to help raise funds. This is to help give fans an experience when they come to the stadium,” the NSA Director-General said.
The game between Ghana and Comoros kicks off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.
