Asante Kotoko SC has announced a disappointing but necessary change to their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco.
The club regrets to announce that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has declined approval for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to host the upcoming fixture. Instead, the pivotal first-leg tie will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 19, 2025, with the match set to kick off at 3:00 pm.
While the decision is disappointing for local supporters in Kumasi, Kotoko is committed to ensuring a memorable event in Accra and will share further details about the match soon. The change in venue, however, has not dampened the team’s momentum.
Recently, Asante Kotoko thrilled their fans by defeating Kwara United both home and away in the CAF Confederation Cup playoff. A dramatic 4-3 win in Accra and a resilient 1-0 victory in Ilorin highlighted the club’s determination, sending them through to the next round with a 5-3 aggregate triumph.
