Mohammed Salisu has disclosed that the Black Stars came out strongly in the second half against the Central African Republic to avoid any form of upset.
Ghana have thrown away leads in recent times and have also been shaky in the second half of most of their matches.
Despite taking the lead and dominating the Central African Republic in the first half in Meknes, the Black Stars tore apart their opponents in the second half, scoring four unanswered goals.
According to the AS Monaco centre-back, the team has learnt from previous mistakes.
“I think the first half they were more careful. They tried to stay back,” he said 3 Sports. “The second half I think they came out more and we had a lot of space in behind them so we tried to play the ball in behind.
“The boys did very good because when they pressed we tried to play the pass in between the lines. I think it was a good game for us.
“Even today when we were leading 1-0 when we finished the first half, we all reminded ourselves that this is what happened against Niger, so we should not let this happen again.”
The victory keep Ghana within touching distance of qualifying for the World Cup in North America.
Ghana will end their qualifiers with a home game against Comoros on Sunday in Accra.
