
Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana has expressed his relief at ending his international goal duck in the penultimate 2026 World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic.
Sulemana, who plies his trade for Atalanta scored his first goal for the Black Stars on Wednesday afternoon, contributing to the team’s emphatic 5-0 win over Central African Republic in Meknes, Morocco.
The pacey winger, who has been in fine form for Atalanta tapped in from close range after a precise delivery from Joseph Paintsil to score his maiden goal for the national team in five years.
The goal ended a frustrating 22-match wait for his first international strike since making his debut for the Black Stars in 2020.
Sulemana was introduced in the 76th minute mark, replacing Leicester City star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in the thrilling clash.
“Alhamdulillah. I appreciate [Joseph] Paintsil very much he set me that ball. I have been waiting for so long⦠and this is my first goal; it means a lot to me. Insha Allah more to come” Kamaldeen Sulemana said.
Ghana play Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday to close out its 2026 World Cup qualification campaign.
