Midfielder Prince Owusu has broken his silence after receiving his first Black Stars call up for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The highly-rated midfielder has been named in coach Otto Addo's squad for the final round of games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic and Comoros.
Owusu impressed the head coach of the Black Stars with his phenomenal performances in the early stages of the new Ghana Premier League season.
The nimble-footed midfielder is one of two local players invited for the two matches, and Owusu promises to give his best to the national team.
"I am from Kumasi and I started my career with Kotoko Babies before moving to Koforidua Suhyen and then later moved to Okwahu and Medeama SC came calling. I am an attacking midfielder and thank God, I have been invited to the national team. I thank Ghanaians for this call up and I promise to deliver. I will not disappoint Ghanaians," he said in a video spotted on Medeama's social media handles.
Owusu has played all three matches in the Ghana Premier League this season as the Mauve and Yellow won two and lost one.
Ghana will travel to Morocco to face the Central African Republic on October 8 before hosting Comoros in Accra four days later.
The West Africans need at least a win to secure their place at next year's World Cup in North America.
