Semper Fi captain Gideon Rockson says there are lessons to take from his team’s 1-1 draw with True Democracy in the Access Bank Division One League Zone III on Sunday.
The defender, who was named Man of the Match at the McDan Sports Complex, admitted that small tactical lapses proved costly but believes the team will bounce back stronger.
"It wasn’t an easy game. It was a very tough game, but tactically we lacked one or two things which made the opponent equalise," Rockson said. "We could have won the game, but it’s one of those things. We just have to go back, correct our mistakes, and look forward to our next game."
Rockson, who led by example at the back, credited his teammates for helping him earn the award. "I feel good [winning Man of the Match], just a little bit down. I will say thanks to my teammates who helped me win it."
Semper Fi now turn their focus to a tough test against Accra Lions, and Rockson is confident the team will be ready.
