Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has attributed his successful recovery from a serious ACL injury to the unwavering support he received from teammates, club staff, family, and fans during his rehabilitation period.
The Stade Rennais right-back, who suffered the knee injury alongside several other Ghanaian internationals last season, emphasized the crucial role his support system played in his journey back to full fitness.
"The ACL process is very difficult and it's all in the head, your mentality, how you cope with the injury," Seidu explained in an interview with Flashscore. "With the support of my teammates, the staff, my family and the fans, they gave me the energy to work harder. That made the rehab very smooth."
Seidu's acknowledgment highlights the importance of mental and emotional support during the challenging rehabilitation process that follows major injuries. The defender's recovery saw him return to action for Rennes, where he has since regained his form and confidence.
The Ghana international's successful return to football serves as a testament to both his personal determination and the value of a strong support network in helping athletes overcome significant physical setbacks.
Seidu now looks forward to continuing his progress with Rennes while aiming to reclaim his spot in the Ghana national team setup, having overcome one of the most challenging periods of his professional career.
