Ghanaian striker Jerry Afriyie announced himself in style on Saturday, scoring his first goals to give RAAL La Louviere their first away win of the Belgian Pro League season with a 2-1 victory over OH Leuven at the King Power at Den Dreef Stadion in Heverlee.
Afriyie struck his first goal in the 17th minute to cancel out Sory Kaba’s opener for the hosts, before netting again nine minutes later with what proved to be the winner. The result marked La Louvière’s third league win after eight matches.
On loan from Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah, the 18-year-old has quickly become an important figure in the squad with his pace, direct runs, and clinical finishing. His brace takes him to the top of the club’s scoring chart, despite featuring in only four games so far.
La Louviere’s win lifts them to 8th place on 10 points. Afriyie previously impressed on loan at Spanish second-tier side CD Lugo, where he recorded four goals and two assists in 10 matches last season.
