Young Ghanaian midfielder Douglas Owusu continued his fine form in the Serbian Super Liga after scoring twice to inspire FK Radnik Surdulica to a 3-1 away victory over FK Napredak Krusevac on Friday at the Mladost Krusevac Stadium.
The 20-year-old wasted no time in making his mark, opening the scoring inside three minutes.
Owusu pounced on a defensive error from the hosts to slot home calmly, giving Radnik the perfect start to the encounter.
Radnik quickly doubled their advantage in the 13th minute through forward Vukasin Bogdanovic, whose clinical finish left the home side trailing early on.
Napredak, however, found a lifeline shortly after when Portuguese defender Pedro Empis inadvertently put the ball into his own net, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
Owusu restored Radnik’s two-goal cushion on the stroke of half-time.
The midfielder stepped up confidently from the penalty spot and converted with composure to register his second goal of the game and effectively seal the victory before the break.
The Ghanaian’s brace takes his tally to three goals in the Super Liga, underlining his growing influence in Radnik’s midfield.
Owusu, who recently gained Serbian citizenship, has now scored in back-to-back matches, further enhancing his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in Serbian football.
