Nigerien powerhouse Sahel SC have completed the signing of five Ghanaian players as part of their squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 Super League season.
The Yellow and Green, who finished mid-table last term, are determined to mount a stronger challenge in the upcoming campaign with continental football firmly in their sights.
Their ambition was underscored during a special unveiling ceremony on Monday, September 15, 2025, which also confirmed the return of former player and coach Maurice Gueye as the club’s new head coach.
Among the new arrivals is highly-rated midfielder Suraj Musah, who developed his craft at Vision FC and WAFA SC.
Emmanuel Nketia, a pacey winger formerly of King Faisal, has also been drafted in to add attacking depth on the flanks.
The club further secured the services of Kamal Akrugu from Accra-based Besiktas Academy, while Fawzan Mohamed Yusif, a talented forward from Bekwai Heroes FC, will look to make his mark in front of goal.
Rounding up the quintet is Stephen Diyou, a versatile attacker who previously featured for the now-defunct Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League.
The addition of the Ghanaian contingent highlights Sahel's growing trust in Ghanaian talent, with the club hoping the blend of youth and experience will translate into success on the pitch.
Training has already begun in Niamey, with Gueye keen to integrate his new signings swiftly into the squad’s system.
