Bibiani Gold Stars have confirmed that only the VIP section of the Accra Sports Stadium will have tickets sold to supporters for their CAF Champions League debut against Algerian giants JS Kabylie.
According to the club’s Chief Executive, Akwasi Adu, fans will be allowed free access to all other sections of the stadium. He explained that the decision is to encourage a strong turnout in Accra, which is not the club’s traditional home base, and to ensure maximum support for the team in their historic campaign.
Gold Stars are forced to adopt the Accra Sports Stadium as their home ground after their Dun’s Park failed to meet CAF standards. The club had hoped to host matches at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium, which is closer to Bibiani, but the facility was deemed unfit to stage international fixtures.
