Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is scheduled to make his second court appearance in London on Wednesday, September 17, as he faces rape and sexual assault charges.
The Villarreal player was charged in August with five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman. The alleged offences are reported to have taken place between 2021 and 2022 during his time at Arsenal.
Partey made his first appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, where the case was formally opened. He was later released on bail ahead of the next proceedings.
The 32-year-old joined Villarreal as a free agent this summer, with the Spanish club backing him despite the ongoing legal case. He has since been integrated into Marcelino GarcÃa Toral’s side and featured in La Liga fixtures, while also being named in their Champions League squad.
Partey’s court appearance comes a day after Villarreal’s Champions League clash with Tottenham in London. The case is set to proceed with further hearings as investigations continue.
