Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has openly acknowledged his challenges in adapting to life at Villarreal CF following his summer move from Arsenal.
The 32-year-old made the candid admission after featuring in Villarreal's 2-0 defeat against his former club Atlético Madrid on September 13.
"I'm now getting back [to adapting to La Liga]. It is a different team, style of play is different, and I think with time I'll get used to it and I'll be able to enjoy more," Partey told Sporty TV in a post-match interview.
The experienced midfielder's honest assessment highlights the difficulties players face when transitioning between leagues and systems, even for someone with Partey's considerable experience in both Spanish and English football.
