Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ coach Issah Najahu has expressed strong confidence in his team’s readiness for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, citing their successful pre-season preparations as a key factor.
The Phobians are set to open their campaign at home against debutants Hohoe United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Najahu, who joined the club in the off-season as part of head coach Didi Dramani’s technical team, pointed to the team’s recent achievements as evidence of their preparedness.
Hearts of Oak concluded their pre-season by winning the Democracy Cup against Great Olympics, adding to the Homowo Cup they secured earlier.
“Once the league starts next week, I think we are very ready for the season,” Najahu stated. “As we have seen in the Top Four, we all saw what happened. Top Four is a high-profile game, and before the league kicks off, you need to play at least high-profile games.”
He emphasized the value of their match against Great Olympics, noting, “We don’t see them as a Division One side but rather a Premier [level team].”
With two pre-season trophies already in the bag, Hearts of Oak will look to build on their top-four finish from last season as they target a strong start to the new league campaign.
